This policy explains how Updraft Drones (“we”, “us”) uses the personal information you give us through this website. We are the data controller for that information.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, we collect your name, organisation, phone number, email address, the site postcode and the details you give us about the job. We also receive basic technical information (such as your IP address) needed to deliver the website securely.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote (lawful basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract).
  • To carry out and invoice work you have asked us to do (lawful basis: contract).
  • To meet legal obligations, such as tax records and the records we must keep of our flights (lawful basis: legal obligation).

We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing unless you have asked us to.

Cookies and analytics

This site works without non-essential cookies. If we use analytics, those cookies are only set if you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

Images captured during flights

Our surveys are planned to capture buildings, structures and land, not people. If a person is captured incidentally, we do not use the image to identify them, and we blur or remove identifiable people and vehicle registrations before images are published. Survey data is shared only with the client who commissioned it.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run this website and handle enquiries, including our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and the tools we use to receive and manage enquiries. They process data only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted after 12 months. Records of work carried out are kept for as long as the law requires (typically six years for financial records).

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
